Farmers Market Part-Time Staff Wanted

General Responsibilities:

  • Load up market supplies from our warehouse in Humboldt Park, transport goods to scheduled market and break down and return supplies to warehouse post market.

  • Being the representative for the farm at local Chicago area Farmer’s Markets.

  • Offer a positive and knowledgeable guest experience; highlighting our offerings, CSA share program, and other farm happenings.

  • Most importantly, a strong interest and care for animals, ecology, and rethinking our food systems.

At Market:

  • Make sure menu is accurately portrayed on signage and table set up is welcoming

  • Speak with market guests about our products and offer education on our farming practices.

  • Work with the on site market team to ensure we are being good partner vendors for the markets.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs

  • Experience with POS and using an iPad to make sales.

  • Commitment to weekly attendance with few exceptions.

  • Must have a vehicle you’re able to use to transport farm goods.

Compensation:

  • Retail Only Market Stafdfcompensation starts at $16.60/hr plus commision on sales for the day

  • Staff CSA share (1lb meat + 1 doz eggs / per week worked)

  • Vehicle use reimbursement
